[MUSIC PLAYING] Computer science allows you so much flexibility. There are ways to partner computer science with just about anything in the world nowadays-- whether it's art or music. Some of the most exciting things that's happening in our society right now-- it's artificial intelligence, it's virtual reality. There are ways to tie computer science into anything in the world. And I would say, take that opportunity and run with it. If you want to make a difference in the world, if you want to do something to help humanity, computer science is the subject for you. Something that's really cool about being a part of the computer science program here at USF is-- you are taking part in a revolution. Here at USF-- first of all, we teach you how to be a good programmer, first and foremost. But then you can actually take electives in areas of interest to you. So for example, you can take classes in data visualization or operating systems or distributed systems. Or for example, what I teach-- human-computer interaction. I feel like this program really prepared me well to put readable code on my computer-- something understandable for other people when they open it up and looked at it and wanted to use what I built. The program that USF offers is in the hub of technology. Getting to study something like computer science where it's being so readily used-- it's inspirational for a student. And at the same time, it's exciting as you learn things. You're like, why would I need to know this? Where would I apply this? You realize, oh, man, there's someone probably using it right down the road. And we have a max of students per class. All the students in our classes get close, one-on-one attention in every class. In every class, I get to go around and talk to every student one-on-one and look at their code. You are getting these tools and the skillset that you're able to apply to any sort of region within the tech industry-- whether it be games or technological devices that'll go on to help people with diabetes or Alzheimer's. I know that I walked out of USF with more lessons about how to be an active member of society and bring my own skillset to the table than I ever bargained for. This is the place to be, and the time is now to develop these skills. [MUSIC PLAYING]
