[MUSIC PLAYING] I chose to come to the University of San Francisco from Italy because I wanted to be a part of the Silicon Valley Tech industry. And I thought the University of San Francisco would give me the opportunity to study in this beautiful program, applied economics. I heard about this program from one of my professors here in the econ department. He was talking about the new applied economics program and how it was going to be more data-centered and more analytic-centered, too, with using coding to look at data and solve real world problems. I have always been looking for an opportunity to enhance my career. [INAUDIBLE] growing technology, with a combination of economics as well as business. So when we decided to revise our program, we didn't want to just sort of do it from our own ideas. We went and talked to people in the industry, at all the leading tech firms, the economists working there. You know, what skills do you have that are really necessary and what would you want in someone that you're looking to hire? And we've really incorporated that feedback in a very concrete way throughout the program in the curriculum. In this program, I get a chance to learn mathematics, computer science, and data science and other skills. It gave me the opportunity to meet and network with people from top tech companies, not just in the Silicon Valley, but in the world. For international students, another nice feature of this program is we are determined to be a STEM program. And because of that, anyone who graduates from our program can work without having to seek out an additional Visa for three years after graduation. I wanted to live you in San Francisco because there are a lot of intelligent young people here. And that pushed me to be a better me. When I graduate from University of San Francisco, I will go back to India and I will share my knowledge. I'm confident that this program will give me all the skills that I need to get in the tech sector and become a successful business economist. [MUSIC PLAYING]
