Making Her Mark at Mastercard
How do you land an internship? Ask computer science major Chelsy Simran ’20. She’s a software engineering intern at Mastercard in San Francisco, working with the operations and technology team.
Environmental science students collecting soil samples from the San Francisco wetlands; master’s in teaching candidates leading a summer reading camp for K-8 students; nursing students providing basic care, delivering meals, and offering health education classes for residents of the Tenderloin; hospitality management students getting behind-the-scenes experience in five star hotels — at USF, four walls do not define the classroom.
Studying in the center of one of the world’s most dynamic cities allows students to take what they’re learning in the classroom and immediately apply it to diverse communities and booming industries just beyond campus borders.
