Academic Advising

Academic advisers provide information to prospective students regarding program offerings, admission requirements, and the various aspects of preparing to begin an academic program. Advisers also meet with prospective students individually and in groups to provide assistance with academic planning. To make an appointment with an adviser at the San Jose Campus, please call (408) 343-7100.

Resources Available for Students

Gleeson Library

A wide variety of resources are available online through USF's Gleeson Library | Geshcke Center. Online books, journal articles, and videos (plus document delivery) provide the materials, and online research help, class instruction, and research guides provide guidance in using them. See the library’s Online & Distance Services page for key services.

One thing I have to mention is the helpfulness of the librarians, who supported me through every step of my grad school journey, even communicating through text message when I was really stuck. They really made a difference during my time with the program."

The Learning, Writing, and Speaking Center, located on the San Francisco campus, also provides tutors and writing professionals to support students academically. Students can work with tutors on a one-on-one basis or in groups on a wide range of subjects, including Statistics.
