The University of San Francisco: Parent Relations

Get Involved

As the parent of a current USF student, we invite you to become an integral part of the university by joining our Parent Leadership Council (PLC), or by becoming a member of one of our Regional Councils.

The Parent Leadership Council

Parents Leadership Council membership levels
The Parent Leadership Council (PLC) is a philanthropic society that supports the university's strategic priorities.

As a member of the PLC, you will have access to top university leadership with the opportunity to meet the university president to offer your feedback and suggestions. As an important part of the USF family, we invite you to play a key role as an advocate for the university as we strive to educate minds and hearts to change the world. All Parent Leadership Council gifts will be designated to the Parents Fund, unless otherwise directed elsewhere at the request of the donor.

The Regional Councils

Read more about the Regional Councils

USF’s Regional Councils are the bridges that connect the campus with our west coast alumni and friends. USF currently welcomes parents as members on our seven active Regional Councils:

  • East Bay
  • North Bay
  • Pacific Northwest
  • Peninsula Silicon Valley
  • Sacramento
  • San Francisco
  • Southern California
Reasons for parents to join a Regional Council:
  • An opportunity to meet and network with USF alumni and parents in the region
  • An opportunity to provide input and feedback on USF programs and activities in the region and to plan events such as send-offs, Admissions fairs at local high schools, community service days, athletic events and receptions with USF President Stephen Privett, SJ
  • An opportunity to meet USF staff and faculty and to hear updates on campus activities and projects
  • An opportunity to support programs which benefit the region such as the regional scholarships which help deserving students complete their USF education
