Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program

Emergency Medical Technician Program to Close

After extensive study, consultation, and analysis, the School of Nursing and Health Professions (SONHP) is closing the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program after the conclusion of its summer 2019 courses. We are proud to have offered a program of the highest quality, built on USF's mission and values.

SONHP will support currently enrolled EMT students and those enrolled in the summer 2019 course. Further, SONHP will provide all necessary support to students requiring any re-tests in the year following closure.

Please note that Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS), which is managed by Student Life and is staffed by students who are certified EMTs, will not be affected during the next academic year.

On behalf of the entire university, SONHP extends its deepest thanks to EMT program director Octavia Struve and all faculty, staff, students, and community partners who have contributed to this program since its inception.
