Recap on Past Events
The Distinguished Lecture Series in Clinical Psychology continued this fall with a presentation by Dr. Patrick DeLeon, MPH, PhD, JD, on Tuesday, September 17 at the new location of the SONHP Graduate Programs in the Presidio. Dr. DeLeon's talk, 'The Future of Clinical Psychology as a Health Profession', was attended by many USF faculty, students and staff as well as local practitioners and community partners. There was a lively introduction by Dr. Joseph White, PhD, a reception with live music and refreshments and a good time was had by all. This evening marked the celebration of the launch of the PsyD Program at USF.
Public Health Day
The Master of Public Health hosted it’s first Public Health Day on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Fromm Hall to showcase Cohort 1 achievements of their 300 hour Fieldwork Study Placements around the Bay Area including: San Francisco Department of Public Health, PG&E, and World Health Organization to just name a few. During the fieldwork experience they were able to research four different areas of Public Health: Health Disparities Access, Program Planning, Program Evaluation and Health Policy, Environmental Health and Maternal/Child Health. This enabled the students to learn about a specific area of Public Health and have a difference in our community.
