Biography

Andrew Segal is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science who teaches Parallel Processing, Operating Systems, and Computer Architecture. Previously, Professor Segal worked at SRI International researching performance computing as well as signal and image processing. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to a variety of research and development projects for ESL Inc., UC-Berkeley, and Argonne National Labs. Notably, he worked on an Advanced Vehicle Control System for the California PATH Program. He has taught electrical engineering and computer science for UC-Berkeley, UC-Santa Cruz, and the University of Illinois-Chicago, and has published many papers on sensor system testing, image and signal processing algorithms, and advance computer architectures. He belongs to a number of committees and honorary societies, including the IEEE Standards Committee and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
