It’s Official: USF is Awesome
In a strong vote of confidence, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) this spring granted accreditation to USF for the maximum period of 10 years. In its reaccreditation report, WASC said USF’s retention and graduation rates reflect a dedication to student success and to closing the achievement gap.
“This commission confirmed that we are who we say we are,” says Shirley McGuire, senior vice provost of Academic Affairs. “They found our faculty highly qualified, our curriculum sound and rigorous, our students well educated — and that everything we do is strongly linked to the USF mission.”
USF has a solid foundation for the future, WASC said. WASC oversees accreditation of USF and its peer institutions across the western United States. Accreditation involves a rigorous two-year review and self- study by the university, as well as input from faculty, staff, and students.
