The Financial Analysis, MS / MBA program is designed to prepare you with a solid managerial foundation grounded with the quantitative rigor demanded by the financial field.

The Financial Analysis (MSFA) / MBA program provides a cost and time savings of up to eight units.

Separate admission to each program is required.

Students must complete a minimum of 17 units in the MSFA program, but not yet have their degree conferred, for eligibility to begin the dual degree program. 

In your MBA essay (Statement of Purpose), please address your interest in pursuing the dual degree.

What is the format?
Financial Analysis / MBA students are exempted from a select number of core (4) and elective (4) units based on their MSFA coursework. The dual degree takes three to three and half years to complete.

What is the cost for the dual degree program?
The Financial Analysis / MBA program provides a cost and time savings of up to 8 units. University policy requires that all dual degree students pay the tuition rate of the program they started first throughout their dual degree coursework. Therefore, MSFA / MBA students pay the MSFA tuition rate for the duration of the dual degree program. 

I am currently in the Financial Analysis program and have the letters of recommendation waived, but references are required in the online application. What do i do?

Why should I pursue the Financial Analysis / MBA dual degree?
The MSFA/MBA dual degree program combines the quantitative training required by the financial profession with the strong foundation of business management skills. With a sustained emphasis on teamwork, the MBA program helps you to develop an entrepreneurial approach to solve a wide variety of managerial problems in both startup and corporate settings.

Will I be able to request CPT or OPT? Is the Financial Analysis / MBA dual degree program a STEM degree?
International graduates typically apply for OPT (Optional Practical Training) after they graduate. Financial Analysis / MBA dual degree qualifies as a STEM degree. International students apply for CPT (Curricular Practical Training) during the academic year for their practicum assignment. Please direct all further questions regarding CPT, OPT, or STEM to the School of Management Admission Office.
