Alumni Award Recipients
Martha Ryan ’72, Alumna of the Year
Ryan founded the San Francisco Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) nearly 30 years ago. It’s now a nationally recognized family resource center that serves 4,000 families annually and works to break the cycle of childhood poverty. Half of her staff of about 80 are former clients.
Nora Wu ’88, Professional Achievement Award
Wu was PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) International’s vice chairwoman and global human capital leader of the firm’s talent strategy for over 20,000 people. She served on the Global Diversity Committee and initiated the PwC Business Women Leadership Roundtable in Shanghai.
Jim Fox ’66, JD ’69, Public Service Award
Fox was San Mateo County District Attorney for 28 years. Before his retirement, he served as president of both the California District Attorneys Association and the National District Attorneys Association. He’s now president of the California State Bar Association.
Christine Coleman MA ’12, Fr. Privett Living the Mission Award
Coleman is a counselor and mental health educator for low-income students. In 2013, she founded Sol Sisters to provide women with holistic health services such as healing through expressive arts, empowerment through physical health and wellness, and mental and emotional support.
John and Susan Sobrato, Cable Car Award
The Sobratos founded the Sobrato Family Foundation in 1996 to provide philanthropic support to local nonprofits. They’ve given more than $107.7 million to 442 organizations, and they have a passion for supporting Jesuit education.
