Cristina is a Senior Staff Attorney at the Animal Legal Defense Fund, where she litigates on behalf of farmed and wild animals to protect them from the harmful effects of industrial animal agriculture. Before joining the Animal Legal Defense Fund in 2017, she spent five years challenging industrial agricultural practices that threaten human, animal, and environmental health as an attorney with the Center for Food Safety, a nonprofit organization in San Francisco. She earned her J.D. with honors from Georgetown University Law Center in 2011 and clerked for the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Cristina promoted sustainable food systems as the manager of a nonprofit partnership between small-scale farmers and communities with low incomes in Portland, Oregon.
