Biography

Sarah A. Thompson is a family law attorney with Apex Family Law in downtown San Francisco. She is a compassionate and effective advocate who places her client’s needs at the forefront. Prior to joining Apex Family Law, Professor Thompson was an attorney at a Northern California law firm focused exclusively on family law matters. She also worked in finance, as junior compliance counsel at Sequoia Capital. 

Professor Thompson attended law school at the University of San Francisco, graduating with honors in the top 20% of her class. During her tenure, she interned in the dependency team at the Office of the City Attorney of San Francisco and Legal Advocates for Children and Youth. She also worked with USF’s Criminal and Juvenile Justice Clinic and participated in the Intensive Advocacy Program. She graduated with five CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Family Law, Administrative Law, Evidence, Federal Income Taxation, and Legal Issues of Terrorism. Professor Thompson also achieved a Public Interest Law Certificate.

She participates in the family law sections of the Alameda County Bar Association, Bar Association of San Francisco, and Contra Costa County Bar Association.
