Professor Thompson is an adjunct faculty member.  She teaches Legal Drafting preparing her students for the bar exam.  Professor Thompson is also a fourth year associate at Fox Rothschild.  She was previously an attorney at Apex Family Law, P.C., which merged with Fox Rothschild in 2018.  Before working at Apex, she worked as an attorney at a Northern California law firm focused exclusively on family law matters.

During law school, she interned with the Dependency Team in the Office of the City Attorney of San Francisco and Legal Advocates for Children and Youth. She also worked with the University of San Francisco’s Criminal and Juvenile Justice Clinic and participated in the Intensive Advocacy Program, where she learned essential trial skills. It was during these experiences that she discovered a passion for helping families and an appreciation for trial work.

Prior to launching her career in family law, Professor Thompson worked in finance as junior compliance counsel at Sequoia Capital. This unique experience allowed her to gain an understanding of hedge funds, venture funds and employee benefits, which has proven advantageous in her family law practice.

Professor Thompson is involved in the Family Law Sections of the San Mateo County Bar Association, Alameda County Bar Association, and the Bar Association of San Francisco.  She is the 2019-2010 co-chair of the San Francisco Bar Association Barristers Family Law Section.

When Professor Thompson is not practicing law or teaching, she enjoys yoga, cooking and travel. She is also passionate about animal welfare and has a rescue dog named Xena.
