Dolores Bastian Dalton’s practice
emphasizes insurance and bad faith litigation for insurers and policyholders,
federal practice, and appeals. She has more than 20 years of experience litigating
complex insurance and commercial issues on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants
in state and federal trial court and on appeal.
Professor Dalton is also a trained
mediator and a member of the appellate mediation panels for the California
Court of Appeal for the First, Third, and Sixth Districts. She has successfully
mediated numerous complex insurance and commercial matters.
Professor Dalton is the former chair of
the City of Albany Planning Commission. She is also a founding president of the
Albany Music Fund, a nonprofit formed to preserve and enhance the music program
in the City of Albany’s public schools. She is a volunteer for Alameda County’s
Lawyers in the Library and has taught sections of “Individual Morality and
Social Justice” in UC Berkeley’s Fall Program for Freshman. She has also taught
at Golden Gate University School of Law and Sonoma State University.
