International Semester Exchange
The International Semester Exchange programs give students the opportunity to learn another country’s laws in greater detail and the chance to learn about different cultures and teaching methods.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our exchange programs are paused. The School of Law has established semester exchange opportunities at the China University of Politics and Law School in Beijing, City University of Hong Kong, the University of Luxembourg, and Charles University in Prague to a limited number of students. Currently, exchanges are available with the University of Luxembourg and Charles University.
All classes are taught in English at the master's degree level or above. No foreign language is required.
The Luxembourg program offers students the opportunity to study in a city that is home to the headquarters of a host of European institutions, including the European Court of Justice and the European Investment Bank. Students may take a variety of courses offered by the University of Luxembourg’s Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance.
The Law Faculty of Charles University was formed in 1348 as one of four faculties of the newly established Charles University. Presently, with more than 4500 students, the Faculty of Law is the largest accredited law faculty in the Czech Republic. Many Law Faculty alumni hold prominent positions within the justice system, in central and local administration, within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in public service and also in private legal practice and private businesses.
Established in 1952, China University of Politics and Law School (CUPL), is known as the leading law school in China. CUPL has played, and continues to play, a key part in the formation of China’s legal system: from the drafting of the 1954 Constitution of the People’s republic of China, to the promulgation of the Anti-Secession Law and the enactment and implementation of almost every major law of the Republic.
The City University of Hong Kong, where English is the official language of instruction, has a community of more than 24,000 students, and international students account for 9% of the student population. CityU has risen steadily in its ranking among the world’s top 150 universities. Founded in 1987, CityU’s School of Law currently offers quality education to about 1,000 undergraduate and post-graduate students. The school aims to become an internationally renowned center for research and legal education in the Asia-Pacific region. Part of achieving that goal has been the establishment of an International Advisory Board composed of renowned professors from Harvard, Yale and Oxford as well as representatives of other leading institutions.
