The Koret Health and Recreation Center is state-of-the-art facility developed by the University of San Francisco in collaboration with alumni, special donors, and the Koret Foundation. Since its opening in 1989, the Koret Center has provided an outstanding recreational and fitness environment for USF students, faculty, staff, alumni and members.
Programs include lap swimming, swim lessons and youth swim teams, and a variety of water sports. Lap lanes will be open during all pool hours, although the number of lanes available will vary depending on other programs in progress, (i.e., during all swim lesson programs the shallow lanes will be closed to anyone other than those enrolled in the lessons). Circle swimming is mandatory during crowded times. Lap lane schedules are available online or at the Front Desk. Children 12 years of age or older, who are competent lap swimmers, may lap swim when accompanied in the pool area by a supervising adult.
There are two adjacent weight rooms complete with 6,000 square feet of Hammer Strength, LifeFitness, Cybex, Icarian, and FreeMotion machines.
Features more than 50 workout stations including an Olympic lifting area, TriBar free weights, Ivanko fixed barbells, and a Land Mine.
Provides 34 workout stations, as well as plyo platforms, Bosu trainers, medicine balls, a spin bike, and Iron Grip free weights and fixed barbells. On-site trainers are available to assist in the development of personal training programs for an additional fee, however free orientations are available by appointment through the Fitness Desk (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Accommodates three full basketball courts, four volleyball courts or six badminton courts, and indoor soccer.
Lower Cardio Alley features 15 elliptical machines (Precor), 10 treadmills (LifeFitness & Woodway), 8 upright bikes (LifeFitness), 4 rowers (Concept 2), 3 recumbent bikes (LifeFitness), 2 Adaptive Motion Trainers (Precor), 2 upper body ergometers, 1 freeclimber (StairMaster) and 1 Step Mill (StairMaster).
Our newly renovated mezzanine level offers 35 pieces of state-of-the-art Precor and Stairmaster cardiovascular equipment including 9 treadmills, 10 AMTs, 7 elliptical machines, 4 upright bikes, 3 Step Mills and 2 recumbent bikes. This level also features a functional training zone with 3 FreeMotion machines, light dumbbells, 2 rowers and 2 spin bikes. All Precor equipment on this level gives 16 cable TV options on personal viewing screens, as well as iPod and iPhone compatibility to personalize the user's entertainment experience. The mezzanine continues to offer a lounge space featuring a 50" HD plasma screen TV, table tennis, billiards, sun deck and views of the Koret pool.
A High School size gym containing a collegiate sized basketball court, locker rooms, and showers which can accommodate various indoor sporting events such as basketball, badminton, indoor soccer, and volleyball.
One regulation racquetball court is available for advanced reservation or same day drop-in use. To reserve the court you must be a current USF student, faculty or staff member or have a Koret membership. Reservations open seven days in advance and close 50 hours prior. All facilities are subject to availability. Koret Health and Recreation Center will be closed during University holidays.
