Biography

Dr. Vivian L. Tamkin is a licensed psychologist specializing in Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health in her Pasadena, CA private practice. She also provides social/emotional classroom-based mental health classroom support to teachers, children, and families enrolled in local area Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

In addition to providing Preschool Mental Health Consultation she received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale with a minor in Child Clinical Psychology (both APA-Accredited programs). Her professional training and employment experiences include a yearlong specialized postdoctoral Fellowship with the Irving B. Harris Program in Child Development and Infant Mental Health from the University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine, Preschool Mental Health Consultation with Early Head Start, Developmental Neurobiological Assessments of Preterm and Medically Fragile Infants, and a staff clinician position at Saint John’s Child Development Center in Santa Monica, CA.
