Biography

Theodora Carson is an active soloist and collaborative pianist throughout the Bay Area. A native of the Pacific Northwest, she has performed with the Marrowstone Island Orchestra, Seattle Wind Symphony, and Bainbridge Island Orchestra in Seattle, Washington. As a chamber musician, she has performed at the Vancouver Academy of Music in British Columbia, Canada, at the Bryanston Chamber Music Festival in Dorchester, England, and at the Instituto del Arte Contemporaneo in Lima, Peru. She was an artist in residence at the Killington Chamber Music Festival in Vermont, and at the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina.

As a collaborative pianist, Professor Carson has worked at The Boston Conservatory of Music, Olympic Dance Company, Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, University of Washington School of Music, and at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. In San Francisco, she has collaborated with Mercury Soul premiering new works by Mason Bates, and with the Classical Revolution Orchestra performing chamber music in non-traditional settings. In 2015, she performed Tchaikovsky in two Visa commercials with members of the San Francisco Ballet.

Professor Carson is a faculty accompanist in the PASJ program at USF, where she also teaches piano lessons.
