Biography

Shalendra D. Sharma is a professor in the Department of Politics at the University of San Francisco. He also teaches in the MA program in the Department of Economics and the Center for the Pacific Rim. Sharma has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed journals and is the author of several books, including Democracy and Development in India, winner of the Choice Outstanding Academic Title for 1999, and China and India in the Age of Globalization, winner of 2010 Alpha Sigma Nu Book award given by Jesuit Universities. Sharma was the recipient of USF's University-wide Distinguished Teaching Award for 1996–97 and the University-wide Distinguished Research Award for 2002–03. He also consults for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
