Prior to joining USF for the last three years, Dr. Ziehm served as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene. For 22 years he also served as Assistant Dean & Director and Clinical Professor at the School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. As an academic administrator, he supported the development and implementation of the UCSF MEPN program and has been a consultant assisting in the development or revision of accelerated graduate-entry and accelerated BSN programs across the USA. He also has worked with a diverse, impoverished, chronic and severely mentally ill client population in acute and rehabilitation settings which was the focus of his teaching. Dr. Ziehm served a two (2) year term as president-elect for the California Association of the Colleges of Nursing and in April 2018 became the President of the Board. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and was given the Award for Excellence by the Nursing and Alumni Association at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. In 2012 he was selected for a fellowship in the American Association of the Colleges of Nursing’s Leadership in Academic Programs and in 2014 he was selected for the WASC Academic Leadership Academy.
