Matthew Berry

Professor Matthew Berry wrote his dissertation — A Confucian Terrorist: Phan Bội Châu and Revolutionary Vietnamese Nationalism — on the grandfather of the modern nation of Vietnam and received a PhD at UC Berkeley. His research also addresses the shaping and use of history for political ends, extremist ideologies, nationalism, and modernization/globalization theory.
