Emily Jennings serves as the director of school and family programs for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Through her work with students, teachers, families, and teens, she designs programs that develop fluency with key thinking skills such as observation, inquiry, inference, and reflection. In 2015 the California Association of Museums, recognized the excellence of the museums’ school programs, awarding the Past & Present program, designed for 6th grade learners, with the Superintendent Award.
Emily’s work includes vital partnerships with the San Francisco School District, the UC Berkeley History and Social Studies Project, and the California Academy of Sciences. Emily served as the lead content developer for the de Young’s de Youngsters Studio, a multimedia-learning environment for ages three and up. She also develops content for the museums’ online learning platform Insights. Emily holds an MA in art history from San Francisco State and an MEd in historical thinking from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
