Biography

Dawn G. Mayer is the associate director of Tax Compliance for the University of San Francisco where she advises the University community regarding tax-related issues and tax compliance matters. Prior to joining USF, Ms. Mayer was a member of the tax department of the law firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton where she counseled a diverse range of clients in all areas of federal, state, and international taxation.

Ms. Mayer is a regular presenter at the annual Tax Forum hosted by the National Association of College and University Business Officers and has contributed to several leading tax publications, including A Practical Guide to Corporate Taxation (CCH March 2012) and Interest Expense Deductions (BNA 2007, revised 2012). Ms. Mayer holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law and a Juris Doctor from Temple University School of Law where she was awarded the Joseph W. Price III Memorial Prize in Taxation.

Ms. Mayer also serves as an adjunct professor in USF’s School of Management where she teaches Federal Taxation and Advanced Federal Taxation.
