Biography
Cynthia M. Shum, DNP (c), MEd, RN, CHSE-A is the Nurse Educator: Simulationist at the VA hospital in Palo Alto, California. In this position she is responsible for the operations of the center and development of new uses for simulation activities.
Cynthia is currently a DNP student at USF studying Faculty Development for Healthcare Simulation under the supervision of Dr. KT Waxman. She obtained her undergraduate degree in 1987 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada and a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Measurement and Evaluation and specifically Research methodologies in 1991.
Ms. Shum started teaching within the Masters of Science in Healthcare Simulation this past summer. She is also involved with research with the California Simulation Alliance. Cynthia presents at numerous simulation conferences.
Outside of work, Cynthia is married and the mother of three boys.
