USF St. Ignatius Dialogues Debate Tournament Reception
The St. Ignatius Dialogues are Jesuit values driven speaking competitions hosted annually by the University of San Francisco and Loyola Marymount University. The unique tournament formats are intended to be non-dichotomous, collaborative, and involve several forms of competitive speaking. Furthermore, the Dialogues involve unique forms of adjudication, expert judges, study tours, service learning events, keynote addresses, and socials.
The Sept. 30th, 2023 Fall tournament, hosted by USF, will showcase teams responding to each of the following guiding questions:
- Round 1: How can we best embrace diversity without exacerbating conflict or losing identity?
- Round 2: What should the role of technology be in advancing social justice?
- Round 3: What is the best way to support the LGBTQ+ community?
