The Theory and Practice of Buddhist Meditation
Dear Colleagues, Students, and Friends of the USF Community,
Please consider joining us for the upcoming event described below. The talk and associated exercises will be led by Dr. John Casey, who has been teaching Asian philosophies and meditative practices for 25 years. This class will focus on the theory and practice of Buddhist meditation (especially the method known as vipassana). It will be suitable for those with any level of interest in Buddhism or meditation, including beginners. Please note that Dr. Casey’s teachings will be directed toward students in PHIL 220: Asian Philosophy.
This event is free and open to the public, and has been generously supported by the Department of Philosophy and the Fleishhacker Fund. Please dress appropriately (loose fitting clothing).
