Celebrating the Great Jesuit Sociologist, Fr. John Coleman, SJ (1937-2025)
Friends and colleagues of Fr. John Coleman, SJ will discuss his intellectual legacy. A sociologist by training, Fr. Coleman taught and published in the areas of Catholic social teaching, religion in public life, and theology and culture. His publications include Sociology: An Introduction with USF professor Ralph Lane, An American Strategic Theology, One Hundred Years of Catholic Social Teaching, Globalization and Catholic Social Thought, and Christian Political Ethics.
Moderated by Fr. Lucas Sharma, SJ, a PhD student of sociology of religion, gender, and sexuality at UC San Diego.
