The future now
November 19, 2020-February 14, 2021

The future now is a sprawling, site-responsive public art project by Bay Area and Washington D.C.-based art collective Related Tactics. Illuminating facets of Black life in the city and exploring the state of national politics, this new commission will be viewable from the street and located in multiple sites within walking distance along the 3rd Street corridor of San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood. The poster series will be accompanied by a web-based survey of the group’s work at the intersection of race and culture, in conversation with the creative practices of individual members Michele Carlson, Weston Teruya, and Nathan Watson.

This hybrid exhibition is organized by Astria Suparak with USF’s MA in Museum Studies Curatorial Practicum class and commissioned by Thacher Gallery.
