The Silk Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Dr. Janet Yellen, former board chair of the Federal Reserve System, to the USF Campus.
Dr. Yellen's tenure from 2014 to 2018 marked a period of job creation, a steady decline in unemployment, and low inflation. Her monetary policy steered the nation's downturn economy into a path of recovery and her legacy continues to impact the nation's economic progress.

Moderator: Suparna Chakraborty, PhD, Associate Dean for Academic Effectiveness, College of Arts & Sciences, and Associate Professor of Economics
Dr. Chakraborty received her PhD at the University of Minnesota. Her areas of specialization include: applied macroeconomics, international macroeconomics, international finance, and development economics. Dr. Chakraborty has published research articles in the Journal of International Business Studies, Economics Letters, and the Journal of World Economic Review.
