4+1 BS/PSM Biotechnology

Program Learning Outcomes and Degree Requirements

Dual Degree Requirements

  • students take at least one PSM required core course during their fall and spring semester of their fourth year (8 units)
  • students can take additional PSM required courses in their fourth year if there is room in their schedule
  • PSM 4+1 students take between 22 and 28 units during their +1 year (compared to the 36 units that regular PSM students take over 2 years), saving both time and tuition cost
  • students conduct a required industry internship during their +1 year, giving them valuable industry work experience

Admission

  • current USF Biology majors apply in the spring semester of their junior year (February 15 priority application deadline, April 15 final deadline)
  • must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in Biology major required courses
  • must have a 3.0 overall cumulative GPA
  • two page statement of purpose
  • resume or CV
  • two letters of recommendation, including one from a faculty member in the Biology department
  • no GRE scores required
