Several students talk around a table at a career event

For Students

The Priscilla A. Scotlan Career Services Center offers the following services to students:

  • Career Fairs
Every year, we host two large signature events in the fall and spring which allow you to connect with a large variety of employers interested in hiring across all majors. The Fall Career Premiere will take place on September 17, 2019 and the JOB FEST Career & Internship Festival will take place on February 28, 2020. In addition, we’re hosting three career pop-ups this spring for students interested in the following industry sectors:
    • March 19, 2020 - Arts & Entertainment
    • March 26, 2020 - Diversity
    • April 2, 2020 - Tech & Biotech Start-ups

These career pop-ups are networking/recruiting events which connect students to employers in specific industry sectors. Students can talk to employers to learn more about their companies, industry, and job/internship opportunities.

  • Online Job and Internship Boards: Handshake & Internship Exchange
USF uses the popular college recruiting platform, Handshake. You’ll be able to easily upload your resume and search and apply for full-time jobs and internships. In addition, our Internship Exchange database provides internship listings across the nation. These are internships USF shares with 20 participating universities including Boston College, Notre Dame, Harvard University, Princeton, University of Chicago, Wake Forest, and Swarthmore.
  • On-Campus Interviews
Recruiters from companies such as Wells Fargo Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Dolby Laboratories, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers visit USF to conduct on-campus interviews to recruit students directly for jobs and internships. We host on-campus interviews in both the Fall (September to November) and Spring (February to April) semesters.
  • Employer Meet-Ups
Join us for a networking Meet-Up throughout the academic year focused on various industries of interest to USF talent.
  • Company Treks and Open Houses
Every semester we plan multiple student treks which involve visiting up to three organizations in the Bay Area over the course of one day. The treks are focused on specific majors and change each year. This Fall, we will be participating in treks focusing on the Tech, Sports, Sustainable Fashion, and Marketing/Communications industries. In the spring, we’ll embark on treks focusing on Finance, Gaming, and Fashion.
  • Information Tables & Sessions
Employers commonly host recruitment tables or information sessions during peak hours of student activity in our University Center. In addition, we're hosting a new concept of information session called Meet & Eat. Employers will host informational luncheon sessions during Dead Hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students can log into their Handshake account to review dates employers will be visiting USF.
  • Employer of the Day
Employer of the Day allows students to have a one-on-one advice session with a real-world recruiter. They can practice their interview skills, get their resumes critiqued, learn how to research a company or an industry, or ask anything about their job/internship search in an informal setting. Employer of the Day will take place on September 11, October 23, and November 6 in the fall and February 19, March 18, and April 8 in the spring. Students can log into their Handshake account to review employers participating and sign up for an appointment.
  • Special Events/Diversity Recruiting Programming
The Career Center periodically organizes a larger diversity recruitment focused event each semester. To find out more, contact Miriam Karpilow at

Work with resources to ensure your resume, cover letter, and portfolio are strong. You may need to edit these documents many times, and before you get an interview, they are what recruiters and potential managers will see.
