Undergraduate Programs

The Mathematics for Educators minor equips teachers with the skills and strategies to make math exciting and engaging for elementary and middle school students. By emphasizing an untapped wealth of engaging mathematics below the calculus level, we provide teachers-in-training with a broad knowledge base they can draw from when making lesson plans.

Students are prepared for the California Subject Examinations for Teachers in Mathematics by completing course work in number theory, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics, and calculus.

Starting Fall 2018

Want to earn a Master's in Teaching?

Our The Dual Degree in Teacher Preparation (4+1) program provides an accelerated, rigorous education leading to a bachelor's in your chosen major and Master’s in Teaching, as well as a preliminary California teaching credential. As part of this unique model, students complete graduate-level courses as undergraduates and work in the field alongside mentor teachers throughout the program.

The more energy and passion I put into my teaching, the more my students will be engaged and put effort and motivation into their learning. We feed off each other’s energies."
