Internships

The program builds a network of professional contacts that serves as the foundation for lifelong career growth.

Tiarra Earls, Alumna

Serving the Public

Tiarra Earls MA ’15 gained first-hand experience in community mobilization by working with the Live Free campaign, which aims to create solutions to gun violence and mass incarceration. This sparked her interest in public service, leading her to work as a public information officer for the Port of San Francisco.

Hitting the Campaign Trail

Katie Scally MA '15 found a passion for local government, politics, and public policy while interning on the Liccardo for Mayor campaign. USF allowed her to pursue law, politics, and campaigns in one program.

Samantha Higgins, Alumna

Cooking up Change

Samantha Higgins MA ’15 interned with the Golden State Restaurant Association and is now their policy and community manager. She reviews legislation and advocates for the restaurant industry locally in San Francisco. Samantha credits the strong network of faculty and staff with helping her to translate academic experience into professional opportunities.

Davi Lang, Alumna

Legislating for the Future

Davi Lang MA ’13 uses the strategic communication and professional writing skills she learned during the program as a legislative aide in San Francisco Supervisor Jane Kim’s office. Recently promoted to campaign manager for Kim’s re-election, Lang continues to rely on the campaign knowledge and skills she learned from the program.
