Introducing USF’s New President

USF President-elect Paul Fitzgerald, S.J., begins work on Aug. 1.

The six-month national search is over, and a Bay Area native is coming home. Paul J. Fitzgerald, S.J., starts his new job as president of USF on Aug. 1.

“I am absolutely elated,” said Fr. Fitzgerald, after hearing he will be USF’s next president. “For a long time, I’ve had my eye on USF as a school I really respect.”

Fr. Fitzgerald brings sterling academic experience, a global perspective, and strong ties to the Bay Area, all of which have positioned him to lead the next generation of USF students to change the world from here.
