Ron Harris

Associate Professor

Associate Professor Ronald Harris is a dedicated researcher who brings invaluable public service experience and practical insights to USF. His research includes: social institutions, public policy, political economy, and program evaluation. His expertise stresses health policy and management.

As the recipient of several research grants and contracts from the federal government, Dr. Harris has carried out intensive studies evaluating the effectiveness of state programs that aim to serve at-risk teens and older adults. His findings have been instrumental in evolving the application of governmental assistance to the aging population; by allowing seniors to age with greater dignity. He has also assessed the sustainability life cycle of “green” cement production in the Philippines.

Preparing students for meaningful careers in public service, Professor Harris leads by example, by providing the necessary knowledge, tools and rigorous analytical skills to help them better determine what makes government policies and programs perform efficiently and effectively.
