USF Yearbook 2004-2005
Staff Positions &
Description:
Chief Editor (1)
-Predict and organize Yearbook's annual budget,
-Be in charge of Yearbook’s income from ads and sales,
-Attend all major and relevant meetings,
-Organize Yearbook documents,
-Give assignments to reporters,
-Contact and cooperate with publisher,
-Make sure different blocks of content are completed by various deadlines,
-Contribute ideas and organize the staff and book ladder.
Associate Editor (1)
-Maintain positive relationship between the School and Yearbook,
-Attend all relevant meetings,
-Assist Chief Editor together with annual budget whenever possible,
-Contribute relevant suggestions,
-Outreach, visit different 2 clubs or organizations every week to promote Yearbook.
Reporters (3-5)
-Receive assignments from Editor in Chief (e.g. attend school events and turn in reports),
-Interview students on campus with different topics (planned with Editor in Chief), and turn in reports every month,
-Contact Chief Photographer when a photographer is needed for any interview, and make sure there are enough pictures for each report
-Attend all meetings.

Chief Layout Editor (1)
-Be able to plan and outline the theme and general design of the current year's Yearbook,
-Organize Yearbook ladder,
-Give standard specifications for graphics type, letter font and page object position coordinates,
-Give timely assignments to fellow editors,
-Communicate with Chief Photographer for photo assignments.
General and Graphics Layout Editor (4)
-Assist Chief Layout Editor in terms of ideas and page layout,
-Must do accurate positioning for page objects,
-Possess a good sense of graphical balance,
-Scan photos,
-Convert and resize all graphics submitted into required graphic type and resolution.
Text Layout Editor (3)
-Do captions,
-Organize senior text submission and type writing when needed,
-Place text onto page layout in required font style,
-Check spellings.

Chief Photographer (1)
-Give assignments to photographers accordingly (for on-campus events, faculty dept. pictures, etc.),
-Contact Editor in Chief if a reporter is needed for an event,
-Receive assignments from Chief Layout Editor according to book ladder,
-Pass pictures to General and Graphics Editor for editing.
Associate Chief
Photographer (1)
-Assist Chief
Photographer together with weekly photographers’ assignment schedule,
-Maintain and organize all pictures,
-Make sure there are enough photographers for all school events and activities.
Photographer (4-6)
-Receive assignments from Chief Photographer,
-Submit at least 30 photos every week,
-Make sure the photos are shot in good quality,
-Submit photos to Chief Photographer.

Chief Marketing and Public Relations Director (1)
-Submit money to Chief Editor,
-Set goals for ads sales
-Estimate revenue from ads sales
-Promote Yearbook awareness on campus by organizing on-campus events,
-Encourage Senior submissions,
-Find and maintain businesses with Yearbook business ads,
-Promote and maintain parents with Yearbook student ads.
Associate Marketing Director (4)
-Organize all mailings (sending and receiving),
-Assist Chief Marketing Director in terms of setting and meeting the goals for ads sales
-Find businesses with Yearbook business and student ads,
-Submit ads to Graphics and/or Text Editor,
-Promote Yearbook sales,
-Communicate with Layout Editors regarding page space for ads.
