Who needs to take the Chemistry Placement Test?

All students who are planning to take General Chemistry I (Chem 111/112L) must take the test.

Note: If you did not take Chemistry in high school, you are not eligible to take General Chemistry I. You should take Foundations of Chemistry (Chem 001). If you took a college pre-chemistry course at another institution, you still need to take chemistry placement test at USF.

The time will start as soon as you click on the test link. Answer all questions: 5 points for correct answer, -1 point for incorrect answer.

Who needs to take the Foreign Language Placement Test?

All Arts & Science majors and International Business majors are required to take a foreign language. This test is designed for students who wish to start the second or third-semester language course. You DO NOT have to take this test if you are beginning a new foreign language, or if you are bilingual and wish to apply for an exemption to the foreign language requirement. Please note: Students who display proficiency on the language tests will be scheduled to take an oral examination with the language faculty.

Which foreign language tests are available on-line?

French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Tagalog and Spanish. (American Sign Language, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, Russian and Swahili will be taken on-campus).
