Web Communications & Services supports the university community by
offering training and services related to the University of San Francisco website
Ektron CMS400.net is the standard Web Content Management System tool set
for the university community. The system allows users to log-in with
their USF network account, edit the web page with a WYSWIG editor and publish
the changes immediately.
If you need access to update an
existing website, please sign up for Ektron Beginner training through the CIT. Once training is complete, fill out the Ektron permission form with your
information and the name of the website you are requesting access to update. Once your request has been approved by the
website manager, Web Services will set up your permission.
For new website requests, please visit
the Building a Website page for best practices and more instructions. Visit the Web Communications & Services Ektron Help section for best practice guides and tutorials.
USF Website Home Page & Top Level Pages
Web Communications & Services is searching for content to feature on the USF home page and top level pages. If you have news, events, videos or photos, please let us know by filling out the USF home page suggestion form. We will review your request and determine the best way to use your content on the website.
In 2009 White Whale Web Services was enlisted to help USF redesign the web site. Website templates have been created to allow
the university community to easily build websites in the university approved
style. The goal of the 2009 web redesign
was to allow for more freedom and flexibility in displaying web content. There are over twenty website templates to
choose from and each banner box can accommodate various features. For more information about the designs and
styles, please visit the USF web style guide, text style samples and the USF CSS guide.
Web Communications & Services

In addition to the Ektron Beginner & Ektron Advanced training classes lead by the Center for Instruction and

Example topics include building online forms, setting up faculty profiles, creating news and events and Ektron best practice topics. The team offers one-on-one shadow training sessions where we meet with you individually to train and offer support as
needed. Please email email@example.com if you are
interested in setting up individual training.
Google Analytics is the web reporting tool used for the University of San Francisco website. Statistics are captured for all university
websites that are managed through Ektron CMS400.net. For individual department or unit web reports,
