The
mission of the Performing Arts and Social Justice major is to create
artists engaged with the world. Through both courses and productions,
USF faculty and students integrate their work with the variety of
communities that surround us. Courses provide students with the
opportunity to critically reflect on their work while productions
provide a creative bridge to the people of the Bay Area and beyond.
After
completing your foundations courses in performance, you will be
admitted as a member of The Company, a student/faculty collaboration
for majors only. The Company combines creative risk-taking with
a serious engagement in community issues culminating with the performance
of an original production.
Members
of the 2003 graduating class has chosen to focus on the issues in
the Middle East. Join us in the Spring as our majors put their service
into action through a final performance. This page will have updates
on the project as the academic year progresses.
