Maureen Adams, AdjunctEducation, had her article, Emily Brontë and Dogs: Transformation Within the Human-Dog Bond, published in the March issue of Brontë Studies: The Journal of the Brontë Society.
James T. Bretzke, S.J., Associate ProfessorTheology and Religious Studies, presented the final workshop in April, Professional Ethics for Ministry, to the graduating class of of the Institute for Leadership in Ministry in the Diocese of San Jose. He also was a panelist on an April same-sex marriage forum at Convent High School of the Sacred Heart, where he presented the Roman Catholic theology of marriage and sexual ethics.
Josh Davis, Associate ProfessorLaw, authored a report in April for the California Supreme Courts multijurisdictional practice implementation committee on its new set of rules expanding the ability of out-of-state lawyers to practice law in California.
Raymond Dennehy, ProfessorPhilosophy, participated in a panel discussion of same-sex marriage at San Francisco City College in March. He also debated abortion in a class at the University of California, Berkeley. His article, Can Jacques Maritain Save Liberal Democracy from Itself, was published in April in the book, Truth Matters: Essays in Honor of Jacques Maritain. Also in April, he gave a presentation on Pope John Paul IIs Gospel of Life for the adults club at St. Cecilias Parish in San Francisco.
George Devine, AdjunctTheology and Religious Studies, has renewed a contract with Western Washington University for use of excerpts of his book American Catholicism: Where Do We Go from Here? in a reader for the course Religion in America.

Maureen OSullivan, ProfessorPsychology, Lisa Wagner, Assistant ProfessorPsychology, Patrick Murphy, Associate ProfessorPolitics, and Roberto Varea, Assistant ProfessorVisual and Performing Arts, presented a symposium in April about innovative teaching at the Pedagogies of Engagement meeting in Chicago of the American Association of Colleges and Universities. Varea also made a presentation on his work with ex-prisoners and agricultural workers and OSullivan discussed the impact of television programming on teaching methods.
Jo-Ellen Radetich, Program AssistantCollege of Professional Studies, was elected in April to the Executive Board of the Office Professional Employees Union Local 3, AFL-CIO.
Juliet Spencer, Assistant ProfessorBiology, and the USF Women in Science club, presented two merit recognition awards in March to female junior high and high school students at the San Francisco Bay Area Science Fair.
Sally VanceTrembath, Assistant ProfessorTheology and Religious Studies, made a presentation at the March USF conference, Imagining the Future Church. She also had an article on Pope John XXIII published in the Encyclopedia of Leadership.
The Dorraine Zief Law Library was cited in a March College & Research Libraries article, Does the Building Still Matter? Usage Patterns in New, Expanded, and Renovated Libraries, 1995-2002, as having the highest increase reported in post-project facility use among 171 survey respondents.
Stephen Zunes, Associate ProfessorPolitics, presented his paper, Unipolarity and the Search for Security: the Case of Iraq, at the March meeting of the International Studies Association, in Montreal, Canada.
