Eight Join USF Board of Trustees
The USF Board of Trustees approved the nominations of eight new members, bringing the number of USF trustees to 44. Two Jesuits, five alumni, and the chairman of Adobe Systems were among the individuals endorsed by the board at its June meeting. The new trustees begin their first three years of a possible nine-year term in September.
Richard Bechelli 55 is a partner with Bechelli Properties, a family-owned commercial properties company, and is also the owner of three apparel businesses. He is currently chair of the USF School of Business and Management Advisory Board.
Dean Brackley, S.J. has been teaching theology and ethics at Central American University (UCA) in El Salvador since 1990. Fr. Brackley, who gave the homily at the inauguration of USF President Stephen A. Privett, S.J., entered the Society of Jesus in 1964, earned a doctorate in theological ethics at the University of Chicago in 1980, and worked for many years in the south Bronx as a priest, educator, and community organizer.
Francis Butler, MA 70, is president of Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA), a consortium of private charities. He holds a doctorate in sacred theology from The Catholic University of America.
Claudio Chiuchiarelli 79 is managing partner of Banyan Securities Company LLC, an institutional securities trading company in Larkspur, and is also an investor in private and public companies.
Charles Geschke, who will succeed Dominic Tarantino 54 as chairman of the board in September, is co-founder of Adobe Systems Inc. Geshke, who formerly served 12 years on the USF Board of Trustees, continues to share chairmanship of Adobes board with the companys co-founder, John Warnock. He holds a doctorate in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University and a masters and bachelors from Xavier University.
Antoinette Malveaux 81 just completed 12 years as president and chief executive officer of the National Black MBA Association. Formerly, she was director of global marketing and strategic planning for American Express Bank. She received an MBA in international finance and multinational management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Patrick McNicholas 83 is a trial lawyer and founding partner of McNicholas and McNicholas, LLP. He is an associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates and serves on the boards of the Consumer Attorneys of California and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
Mark Ravizza, S.J. is an associate professor at Santa Clara University, specializing in moral philosophy and metaphysics. He received his bachelors from Stanford University, his doctorate from Yale University, and his master of divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley.
