Susan Murphy, director, financial aid, talked to the San Francisco Chronicle Feb. 25 about Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s plan to cut Cal Grants for students attending private colleges and universities.

Robert Talbot, School of Law, was live Feb. 24 on KTVU TV, KPST TV, and KGO TV about San Francisco’s licensing of same sex marriages. On February 16, he was featured by CNN Headline News on the same topic. In the last month, Talbot has been interviewed more than 20 times about the case of Scott Peterson, accused of murdering his wife and unborn son. Talbot’s media hits include: ABCnews.com, San Mateo County Times, San Jose Mercury News, San Francisco Examiner, Tri-Valley Herald, Oakland Tribune, Modesto Bee, Alameda Times-Star, The Daily Review, KNTV TV, KGO TV, and KCBS radio. 

The computer science department’s supercomputer project was featured Feb. 23 on the front page of The New York Times.

The School of Law’s Investor Justice Program was featured Feb. 20 by the San Antonio Express News (Texas) and on February 22 by the St. Petersburg Times (Fla.)

Eugene Muscat and Kathy Kane, School of Business and Management, were quoted in February by the Contra Costa Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Kansas City Star, the Wichita Eagle, and The State (Columbia, South Carolina) about Donald Trump and his new reality television show “The Apprentice.” Muscat talked Feb. 18 to KGO TV about how the Internet created a wave of voter support for former presidential candidate Howard Dean. Muscat was also quoted Feb. 2 by the Indianapolis Star about the thriving entrepreneurship of second-generation Hispanics.

Roberta Johnson, politics, was live Feb. 17 on KGO TV about the Democratic primaries.

Xiaoxin Wu, Ricci Institute, spoke to the Christian Science Monitor Feb. 10 about Americans proficient in Chinese and Americans interested in speaking languages other than English.

Terence Patterson, Associate Professor-Education, was quoted in the current issue of Fit Parenting magazine on potential emotional reactions to pregnancy.

Stephen Shatz, School of Law, talked to the Sacramento Bee Feb. 8 about the possibility of sentencing two different people for the same crime.

Patrick Hatcher, Center for the Pacific Rim, talked to KRON TV Feb. 6 about weapons of mass destruction and terrorist threats forcing airlines to cancel flights.

The visit of Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy to USF was featured Feb. 6 in the San Francisco Chronicle and Catholic San Francisco.

Richard Puntillo, School of Business, spoke to the Boston Globe Feb. 1 about Bank of America transferring its headquarters from San Francisco to North Carolina.

Maureen O’Sullivan, psychology, was featured in the January issue of the German magazine Bild Der Wissenshaft. She talked about romantic love and lies. 

Robyn Rodriguez, sociology, spoke Feb. 18 to the San Francisco Chronicle about the Cuevases, a Filipino family served deportation papers by the U.S. government. On the same topic, Jay Gonzalez, politics, was also quoted Feb. 16 by the San Jose Mercury News in his capacity as a San Francisco Immigrant Rights Commissioner.

Jacques Artus, Distinguished Visiting Scholar in economics, published an article Feb. 13 about Argentina’s foreign debt in the British Financial Times.
