John Callaway, ProfessorEnvironmental Science, is the new editor of Madrono, the journal of the California Botanical Society. He also published a paper, Declining Biodiversity: Why Species Matter and How Their Functions Might be Restored in Californian Tidal Marshes, in the December issue of BioScience.

She was also invited to Washington, D.C. and awarded a National Science Foundation grant in October. In December, she was invited to Taiwan National University to present a paper. She will also be attending the American Education Research Association conference in New Orleans in April.
Terence Patterson, Associate ProfessorEducation, is the editor of Volume II, Cognitive Behavioral Approaches, in the four-volume Comprehensive Handbook of Psychotherapy to be published in April. Patterson is also co-author of the Volume II chapter Ethical Issues in Behavior Therapy.

Ray Quirolgico, Associate DirectorResidence Life, will be a presenter in the program, Stories of Moral Wisdom, with Julie Orio, Hall DirectorResidence Life, Rosemary Perez, Hall DirectorResidence Life, and Erin Gannon, Assistant Hall DirectorResidence Life, at the annual convention of the American College Personnel Association in Long Beach, Mar. 16-20. Quirolgico is also the coordinating presenter in two other programs at the same convention: Voices, Myths and Heresies in Our Professional Practice and How Mentors Can Evoke Moral and Spiritual Stories from Students. He is a panelist and co-presenter of a workshop, Ecology, Elements, and Evolution: The Healthy Campus, at the annual convention of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators in Boston, Mass., Mar. 2-6. He was also awarded a continuing grant in January from the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) to work with the AAC&U program Leadership Node Partners.
