Board Approves Capital Campaign

The USF Board of Trustees has approved a comprehensive fund-raising campaign to finance a host of projects that address the “strategic initiatives” of the new university vision, mission, and values statement. The quiet phase of the five-year campaign is scheduled to begin in June 2002, with a public announcement in fall 2004.

The three initiatives on which fundraising will focus are: projects to enroll and support students, such as scholarship endowments and a new residence hall; projects to recruit and develop faculty, such as endowments for chairs and programs; and projects to support an active learning environment, such as facility and technology upgrades.

The university’s last capital campaign, “Building a Bold Tomorrow,” concluded in 1996 with a total of $92 million in gifts and pledges received.end
