USF Celebrates Successful Completion
of Campaign

Campaign CelebrationThe University of San Francisco recently celebrated the successful completion of The Campaign for USF, which brought in $178 million.

“Tonight I thank you for your generous support of The Campaign for USF, for your investment in our students, for our confidence in the better world that young men and women with a USF education will fashion for us all,” said USF President Stephen A. Privett, S.J. during the Oct. 22 celebration.

Held at the Old Federal Reserve Building in San Francisco with nearly 400 people in attendance, the event was designed to thank donors for their support in making the campaign the most successful fundraising drive in USF history. During the campaign, nearly $50 million was raised for endowed scholarships, surpassing the initial goal of $30 million. Additionally, almost $13 million was raised for faculty chair endowments. Tarantino with BatChairs established include the Lo Schiavo Chair for Catholic Social Thought, the Hamill Family Chair in the School of Law, and the P. Carlo Rossi Entrepreneurial Chair in the School of Business and Management.

Several new academic centers were also created, including The Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good and The Joan and Ralph Lane Center for Catholic Studies and Social Thought. The campaign also raised money for a range of facilities projects, including:
