Objectives: Production Year 2
Priority 1
Account Management
• Develop one-way synchronization between LDAP and Active Directory.
Updates to the USFconnect password update LAN password, but updates to
LAN password do not update USFconnect passwords. This will keep passwords
in synch for users with one change password tool, but allow those who
prefer to have a separate password for LAN to do so.
Priority 2
Integrations
This year, we plan to develop single sign-on access to the following external
systems:
• Student Picture Search (complete)
• Gleason Library | Geschke Center (Innovative)
• Blackboard 6.0
Priority 3
Calendar
• Identify and implement a more robust enterprise-wide personal
calendar system, unifying at least all employees on the same system.
• Identify and implement an effective web-based events calendar
system
Priority 4
User Base
• Add alumni to USFconnect, including deployment of SCT Alumni &
Friends Self Service. Target Spring 2004.
Course & Group Tools
• Encourage faculty utilization of USFconnect course tools through
messages and training.
• Provide web access to a central file-sharing resource to enable
faculty to easily post syllabi and other course documents, and groups
to share documents.
Content
• Enhance the currency and quantity of information available from
the My Connection and Campus Life pages, including greater use of graphics.
(complete)
• Develop custom roles for serving department-specific intranet
content to employees
Priority 5
E-mail and Messaging
• Develop Single Sign On and deploy SunOne e-mail web interface
as primary e-mail web interface (complete);
phase out CP mail interface
• Add student e-mail to USF directory information under FERPA and
enable the directory search feature of the SunONE e-mail client, including
an opt out option.
• Implement weekly summary e-mails (“This Week on USF Connect”)
