MBA Intensive Explorer Module Class
Port of Oakland
June 27, 2008

The MBA Explorer module in the newly started MBA Intensive program incorporates academic learning with a hands-on approach to business through visits with local companies and organizations. The class is led by Professor Carlos Baradello and consists of lectures and site visits. The first visit was to attend a UPS sponsored event which focused on export driven growth, and a visit to the Exploratorium where students had the chance to discover the infinite potential that science can have for business and innovation. The second site visit was at Plug and Play, which provides the structure and framework for aspiring entrepreneurs to successfully implement their venture ideas. Finally, the class' third visit was to the Port of Oakland and the Oakland Chamber of Commerce to observe how global commerce is an everyday task for people that manage thousands of containers in and out of Northern California.
