Dr. Tamer Discusses the Importance of Clean Energy

On November 18, Dr. Ford Tamer of Khosla Adventures spoke to student about clean technology used by Khosla Adventures and other business companies.

Dr. Tamer, who has over 20 years of experience in mechanical and electrical efficiency, has been with Khosla since it was founded in 2004. Khosla Adventures was founded by Vinod Khosla, who is also the co-founder of Sun Microsystems.

Green companies, ones that practice recycling using clean technology, are likely to last longer in today’s economy, Dr. Tamer said. In contrast, companies that produce and use products wastefully will not succeed in today’s economy because consumers and employees are now putting an emphasis on companies that are environmentally responsible and deliver a good product.

“People in general are now more aware,” said Dr. Tamer, who credited numerous documentaries and environmental groups with informing the public on environmental problems that could affect our lives in the near future.Coincidentally, Tamer said that “being green has transcended the business world.”
