Meet the Staff

Ms. Carney earned a B.A. in English from the University of San Francisco and holds an M.A.E. in Education Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as Financial Aid Counselor. After ten years on staff at USF, she served as Assistant Registrar at Hudson Community College in Jersey City. Ms. Carney transferred from UAB to her University of South Florida position as International/Transfer Admissions Counselor in 2008 and returned to USF in October 2011 to join the Don’s Battalion staff. She is the proud mother of a daughter and son, and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.

Hailing from San Francisco, Ms. Warren began her service to the Department of the Army at the Presidio of San Francisco Army Base in 1989. As a military spouse, she traveled abroad and continued to pursue her career and education. Her duty assignments include: Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Izmir Turkey; Fort Eustis, Virginia; and Darmstadt, Germany. In 2005, she returned to San Francisco, to serve as the Human Resource Technician for the Dons Battalion at USF. She has served 25 years with the Army and looks forward to many more. She is the proud mother of one daughter and sincerely enjoys mentoring ROTC Cadets.

A native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Mr. Avila attended Advance Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia and graduated as a 92Y (Supply Specialist.)  Mr. Avila is currently assigned to The USF Dons Battalion as the Supply Technician. He is married and arrived at USF to join the Dons Battalion staff in Feb 2010.
