Mission Statement

The Budget and Planning function in the Provost Office serves the institution in its strategic planning and budget development ensuring plans support the Vision, Mission and Values of the University of San Francisco. Committed to a transparent process, the staff consists of highly-qualified, service-oriented individuals focused on a common good that transcends the interest of particular individuals and groups, and are committed to the following values:

  • Enhancing institutional credibility

  • Maintaining confidence and trust
  • Using technology strategically
  • Supporting and promoting a culture of evidence

By achieving these values, the staff fosters respect for the University's legacy, the fulfillment of current strategic priorities, and the development of the institution as a premier Jesuit Catholic university.

Strategic Goals

Consistent with the University Goals, the following goals have been prioritized for 2010-2013:

Goal 1: Ensure that our institutional planning process allows us to move purposefully and deliberately towards advancing the University's mission.

Goal 2:Recruit and retain excellent staff who are committed to USF's mission and values and embrace a "culture of service".

Goal 3: Ensure that the Office of Budget and Planning is an active contributing member to the implementation and adoption of our new business intelligence tool.

Goal 4: Develop tools and analysis that help the Leadership Team make informed decisions that ensure USF's long-term financial stability.

Goal 5:  Promote a high degree of transparency regarding the institution's allocation of financial resources.
